It's a holiday tradition - every year, the incomparable Darlene Love makes a Yuletide appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman to sing the Jeff Barry/Ellie Greenwich/Phil Spector classic, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)." Below is her 2006 performance, which includes a little snippet of "Silent Night" as well. Enjoy!

I am a poet, and I have studied many years in the reads of the 'great ones.' But sir, as odd as it is, I went to TVLAND and listened to the ;Jeffersons" theme song, but as a poet, I heard your words..."Fish...beans don't burn...to get up the hil..." I am humbled sir. Even Maya Angelous, Hughes cummings didn't poses this gift of brilliant brevity. I have tried in my poem 'What we know about God" "...!... ." no word, but a life time to write, but you have inspired me to write better, JS Schilling poet. Thank you! You touched my hear as a poet...
